Today we're talking about a trial set I bought from Testerkorea last year, containing 4 products from the Korean Skinfood Yuja Water skincare line: toner, serum, emulsion and cream.
Oggi parliamo di un set di minitaglie che ho comprato l'anno scorso da Testerkorea, contenente 4 prodotti della linea Yuja Water di Skinfood, marchio coreano (che pare a breve arriverà su Sephora Italia? Speriamo non pochissimi prodotti come Tony Moly): tonico, siero, emulsione e crema viso.
The whole line contains more products (like a mist, an oil, a mask etc.) and is supposed to be hydrating and brightening, thanks to the presence of yuja extract and yuja essential oil: the yuja is a citrus fruit cultivated in Asia, I think it's the same fruit we call "citron". It contains 3 times more vitamin C than lemon, which we know it's important for the collagene production, and is also a strong antioxidant, it's soothing and moisturizing for the skin.
(Also, the yujas used from Skinfood are grown in Goheung without pesticides and chemical fertilizers. The products of the line are NOT organic, don't have only natural ingredients, though.)
La linea consta di più prodotti (tra cui una mist, un olio viso, una maschera eccetera), e dovrebbe essere una linea idratante ed illuminante, grazie alla presenza dell'estratto e dell'olio essenziale di yuja: è un agrume coltivato in Asia (forse il nostro cedro, ma non sono sicura) che contiene 3 volte più vitamina C del limone, importante per la rinnovazione cellulare, forte antiossidante, con proprietà lenitive e idratanti.
(Inoltre, i frutti usati da Skinfood per questi prodotti sono coltivati a Goheung senza pesticidi e fertilizzanti chimici. NON sono prodotti ad inci verde).
The brand suggests the Yuja Water line for those who (taken from the site):
- have skin that looks oily on the surface, but is dehydrated inside
- are concerned about dull-looking skin
- have dry skin but don't like creams too oily or thick
- want glowy skin
- want to hydrate and brighten the skin at the same time

I was curious about this line, since I'm always on the look for products that help to brighten the skin without being aggressive, and these seemed perfect. So, when I found this trial set on Testerkorea, I immediatly bought it (now it seems it's not sold anymore, but you can buy samples of most products online, if you wan to try them).
Questa linea mi ha incuriosito perchè sono sempre alla ricerca di prodotti che illuminino la pelle senza essere troppo aggressivi. Perciò, quando ho trovato questo set in vendita su Testerkorea, l'ho preso subito (adesso mi pare che non sia più in vendita da nessuna parte, ma online si possono comprare i campioncini di vari prodotti, se volete provarli).
Like I said, the set is made of 4 products, in beautiful little bottles (I'm going to keep few of them for when I travel) of 10-20ml. I finished the toner after around 10 days, the others lasted me for 3 weeks. They all have a nice lemon-ish scent.
I started using them at the beginning of January, since it's colder and my skin needs a little more moisture; even if I know it's not pure vitamin C, I still used some SPF if I went out in the morning. Ah, I used the whole line only at night, but in the colder days (we had some really freezing days in the second half of the month) I used the serum and/or the cream at the morning too and had no problems of oily skin. But, as I said, it was really cold.
For 3 weeks, despite the cold, my skin has been well hydrates, I've never had any dry patches. I also noticed less redness on my cheeks, and, right before my period, I didn't experience any particular breakout.
I must say I was quite satisfied!
Come ho detto, il set è composto da 4 prodotti, in delle bellissime e curatissime boccette (un paio le terrò per usarle nei viaggi) della capienza di 10 o 20 ml a seconda del prodotto. Ho finito il tonico dopo una decina di giorni, gli altri mi sono durati 3 settimane. Tutti i prodotti hanno un buon odore di limone.
Ho iniziato ad usarli ad inizio gennaio, dato che fa più freddo e la mia pelle ha bisogno di un po' più di idratazione; anche se non si tratta di vitamina C pura, ho comunque sempre usato una protezione solare quando uscivo di giorno (sì, la protezione andrebbe usata sempre. Ma d'inverno mi affido più a creme/prime/fondotinta che hanno SPF. Non sono una crema solare, ma danno protezione).
Ho usato tutti e 4 i prodotti solo la notte, ma nei giorni più freddi (e come saprete nella seconda metà di gennaio ha fatto parecchio freddo) ho usato il siero e/o la crema anche di giorno e la pelle non mi si è lucidata più del solito. Ma, ripeto, ha fatto particolarmente freddo.
Per 3 settimane, nonostante il freddo, la mia pelle è sempre stata bella idratata, non ho avuto alcun problema di secchezza. Ho anche notato meno rossori nella zona guance, e la mia pelle se n'è stata piuttosto tranquilla anche nei giorni prima del ciclo. Mi ha soddisfatto parecchio!
About the single products:
- the toner left my skin well refreshed, and it's the one with the strongest scent. Sadly, the scent was quite alcoholic too (but never felt burning on the skin).
-the serum was really nice. It absorbed quickly but it was very moisturizing. I used it few times under my makeup and had no issue. I could totally purchase the fullsize.
- the emulsion, which is basically a thicker serum, didn't impress me: it didn't give me more moisture than the serum already did, and left my skin a bit sticky.
- the cream was a surprise because I thought it would be very heavy, but it wasn't. In the colder days I used it under my makeup and it didn't make me more oily than usual. It was moisturizing without being heavy, and it absorbed pretty quickly too.
Per quanto riguarda i singoli prodotti:
- il tonico è rinfrescante, ed è quello che profuma di più. Purtroppo nell'odore si sente anche un po' di alcool, anche se non mi ha mai dato alcun bruciore.
- il siero mi è piaciuto molto. Si assorbiva facilmente ma era comunque idratante. L'ho usato qualche volta sotto il trucco e non ho avuto alcun problema. Di questo potrei anche prendere la fullsize.
- l'emulsione, in pratica un siero più corposo, invece non mi è piaciuta granchè: non mi sembrava mi desse più idratazione di quella che mi aveva già dato il siero, e mi lasciava la pelle un po' appiccicosa.
- la crema mi ha sorpreso molto perchè mi aspettavo qualcosa di pesante, e invece no. Nei giorni più freddi l'ho usata anche prima di truccarmi e non mi sono lucidata più del solito. Idratava senza essere pesante, e si assorbiva anche abbastanza in fretta.
Once again, I liked the results, and I think it's a pretty good line for who wants moisture, brighening effects but nothing too heavy. Would I purchase any fullsize of this line? Probably the serum, it's the product that I liked the most, even though the cream was quite good too. I must say that I'm really intrigued by the ampoule and even more by the face mask of this line!
Is there anything that you would buy of the Yuja Water line?
Come ho detto, i risultati mi sono piaciuti, mi sembra una buona linea per chi vuole idratazione, luminosità, ma niente di troppo aggressivo o pesante.
Comprerei qualche fullsize? Forse il siero, che è quello che mi è piaciuto di più, ma anche la crema era buona. Però devo dire che i prodotti che mi attirano di più sono quelli che non erano nel kit, come l'ampoule e, soprattutto, la maschera viso.
C'è qualcosa che vorreste provare di questa linea?
